• Holy – Christ sanctifies His Church; therefore she is holy.
• Catholic – Christ's love is accessible to all; therefore His Church is universal.
• Apostolic – Christ founded His Church on the Apostles; therefore it is the successors of the Apostles that maintain true Christian doctrine.
